Whether a single stem or a full arrangement, flowers bring beauty and happiness to their environment. I started working with flowers when I was a teenager, and flower arranging has since become a hobby. It is the perfect way for me to share my love of flowers with family and friends. A flower arrangement always makes a great gift, whether for a special occasion or just because.
My favorite flower garden is the Huntington Library Botanical Gardens located in San Marino, California. As I grew up in Los Angeles, I made quite frequent trips to the Huntington, just to enjoy the serenity of the flower garden. I later became a docent and learned the history and proper care of flowers so that I could share the knowledge with others as I took them on guided tours of the gardens.

I moved to Berkeley in 1997 to go to business school. I lived in the Elmwood district, of which there is a cute little neighborhood "village". I often frequented the shops and cafes in the village. One place that always stood out for me was a little flower stand in an alley way along College Avenue. Because I was a student, I could only afford one or two flowers each time I visited. Nevertheless, I always made time to stop there.

I love the idea of having my own little flower cart someday. I envision my shop located along a walkway paved with cobblestones and bordered by trellises with climbing roses. It is this vision that inspired the name Floral Alley.

A few years ago my husband and I moved into a house with a backyard in San Francisco. It was the perfect patch of land for me to have my first garden. I started with a 25' x 10' patch of dirt and planted a dozen flowering plants. They were my pride and joy, as I spent countless hours nurturing them. And they rewarded me with many beautiful flowers each year.

Shortly after, I decided to turn my love of flowers and hobby of flower arranging into a weekend business. And Floral Alley was born!

Fast forward to today...my floral studio (a.k.a. my home) is now located in the Berkeley Hills. I share my love of flowers with my two young sons. They find great joy in helping water and maintain our garden. In the midst of today's fast-paced world, it gives me comfort to know that my sons can appreciate the simplicity and beauty of flowers.

I am so eager to share this same beauty of flowers with you as well and look forward to creating a flower arrangement especially for you!
